Role Independent Chair
Richard Hughes has spent much of his career in the private equity industry in the UK, China, Australia and New Zealand, and has also held roles in emerging market venture capital funds in Africa, Central America and Asia.
He now advises a number of businesses involved in the broader private equity industry and is a member of the Investment Committee for the Auckland University Business School Entrepreneurs Challenge.
Richard is a Chartered Accountant and graduated from Cambridge University where he read Engineering.>
Alongside a founding shareholder & Chair role Beppie holds with Rapid Advanced Manufacturing Ltd (RAM), Beppie’s career has included working with BP in New Zealand in senior communications and external relations management roles for 14 years followed by 10 years working in HR with BP in Japan, South East Asia and Angola to support the development of local personnel for new businesses. After returning to New Zealand in 2009, she worked at the Bay of Plenty Polytechnic in business development and project management roles for 4 years.
Beppie is a member of the Institute of Directors and Enterprise Angels and current chair of the Red Cross Bay of Plenty Area Council.>
Scott Hamilton is the CEO of Quayside Holdings Limited and has been with the company since 2010. Scott brings ten years of funds management experience including senior investment and operations management roles in both New Zealand with ASB Group Investments and the United Kingdom with Barclays Global Investors. Scott also brings NZ banking and commercial sector financial, acquisition and restricting experience to the role.
Scott is a member of the Institute of Directors, he is also a Chartered Accountant and mentor with the New Zealand Institute of Chartered Accountants.>
Steve Saunders is the Owner/Founder of the Plus Group of companies, specialising in horticulture management consultancy, global pollen production, robotics development, international joint ventures, applied technology, research and development, innovation and science.
He is the Co-Founder of Newnham Park Horticulture Innovation Centre at Te Puna which hosts six local award winning independent companies, and also a Director of multiple privately owned companies. Steve is a major stakeholder in the kiwifruit postharvest sector, an active Angel Investor, a Seed Co Investment Fund investor representative and an elected member of the Executive Board for Priority One.
Steve has 28 years’ experience in the horticultural industry and is extremely passionate about improving long term sustainability. Steve prides himself in strategic planning and commercialisation through his broad range of management roles and directorships. He has travelled extensively over the years to develop major international networks in the horticultural/food sectors.>
